The actuator is capable of performing non-conservative positive work about the ankle joint. The motor, transmission, and electronics are contained above the prosthetic ankle joint, and a modular Lithium-Polymer battery is housed most proximal to the ankle joint. The base of the prosthesis consists of a carbon-composite leaf spring, which adds compliance at the heel and forefoot.Back to article page
