IMU sensor orientations. Eleven inertial measurement units (IMUs, APDM Wearable Technologies, Inc.) were worn by a subset of participants (n = 4) at the head, chest, lumbar region, wrists, thighs, ankles, and feet. All participants (n = 7) wore IMUs at the chest, lumbar region, ankles, and feet. The IMU body-fixed frame is depicted on the right. The lumbar IMU is oriented such that the positive y-direction points out of the page. Bilateral IMU orientations are the same (frontal: y-axis to the right, sagittal: y-axis forward)
