Schematic diagram of pMMS dynamics and evaluation procedures. The pMMS is placed on the tibialis anterior (TA) muscle and secured in place by a bandage or sleeve. The pMMS outputs are converted to the target variable (muscle fascicle length or joint angle) based on the identified muscle-skin-pMMS dynamics consisting of a static non-linearity and a linear system.
